about halo(form, shift, hed): my real name is timothy plocinski. i'm 23. i'm leaving a job with a geotech/enviro engineering firm to finally start school (its been 5+ years). at least i think so, too much debt got me thinking about getting another job. (any offers?) i've been making music since highschool (i was actually in a band that did screeching weasel covers, if you can imagine that). i ran out of music to buy (i own ALOT) so i started making the forms i glimpsed in dreams, faces, and incidental sound. i use buzz nearly exclusively (audiomulch too, and the support tools, you know the ones). alot of my creations are beatless. some aren't. stepping in/out/side the loop. i've worked with live musicians. i've sampled some dead ones. if you live near me (see bottom for addy) lets hook up and do something. i used to run the transmission23 BBS (among many others! those were the days!) before the internet came along, then it was transmission23.com (RIP). if you used to be a user, send me a message! i remember you! i will be releasing an album sometime in the summer. write me if you wanna copy. |

extension b u z z extreme alpha: r zero copyright 2000 d e a d s o u n d s y s t e m s contact haloform by sending nice notes, and reactions to : haloshift@hotmail.com NOTE: ext_buzz is looking for a permanent website within the buzz community. if you have 10 megs to spare, please send me mail. extension buzz is a program that currently does very little. but that little thing it currently does is very very useful. which is why i chose to release this extreme alpha version. in its current state the application allows you to open a buzz file, and view its patterns in independent windows. this is extremely useful for multi-monitor systems. it is also very useful for composition of music, so that you can at least view a different machines patterns, or different patterns for the same machine (or something like that :)) -06/04/2000
-downtime- i'm sorry that dev on ext_buzz has been so slow, but i have been really sick, and haven't had alot of time to devote on dev of sideprojects. i've trying to maintain my job while juggling hospital visits. thank you for your support, and understanding -09/21/2000
sys reqs: windows buzz v1.2 or greater 16bit display or greater 64 Tick Patterns ALMOST FITS on 1280x1024 screen, 1600x1200 recommended. (working on improving this!) to install: put it anywhere you want, preferably in your buzz dir. to use: 1. File->Open: pick a buzz file, it must have been saved in buzz v1.2 or later. if its lacking the 'PARA' Section, it will tell you and not do anything. 2. Patterns->[Machine Name]->[Pattern Name]: this will open a window with the pattern data displayed. each window is independent. there is a feature that acts like a bug, in that any opened windows will stay open when you open a new file. this is so you can look at pattern data from seperate files. closing the app will close all pattern windows. the pattern windows are sizeable, they will auto-size themselves at some time in the future. 3. Right-Click on Grid->Collapse/Expand Globals: this will collapse or expand the view of global data in the pattern window. thats it for this moment. sorry. it will be way more useful really soon! send me your suggestions. read the rest of this file. i am not responsible for anything this software does to you, or your system. i am also not responsible for any damage it may (prolly not, but you never know!) do to your music (more important than your own personal health, or welfare of your machine), so having said this, BACKUP YOUR SHIT. version history: 06012000.0.000000000: extreme alpha release 0. application does one stupid thing :P. 06042000.0.000000001: extreme alpha release 1. application coming along nicely, it still is only a viewer, but it has more functionality. see notes in above for feature set. 09212000.0.000000002: extreme alpha release 2. bug fixes, more feautures. almost ready to release the editor. short term feature set: make pattern viewer more robust by: - seperating global and track data - done (sorta you can collapse one or the other) - adding print function - 80% (i don't like how it looks right now) - adding color coded seperations to viewer done (mostly, still want to do more) - making it stay on top of buzz (can't figure out how to make it do this) make machine viewer more robust by: - making it do something long term feature set: NOTE: send me suggestions on these! (haloshift@hotmail.com) - using extbuzz to actually edit data: - copy/paste across machines/patterns - copy/paste machines from to and within files. - log interpolations, user defined interpolations - user defined (drawn) parameter changes - rip wave data from buzz file - extensive merge functionality - more stuff i can't think of - using extbuzz to enhance productivity with buzz - wavetable enhancements (organisationally only!) - extensive pattern database support - anyone know if i could use the buzzplay stuff to put in a 'preview' mode? i'm using delphi 5. - alot more stuff i can't think of - COULD SOMEONE SEND ME INFORMATION ON THE POSSIBILITY OF WRITING A DELPHI HEADER TRANSLATION FOR MACHINE DEVELOPMENT, I'VE NEVER DONE ANY THING LIKE THAT, BUT I'D LIKE TO TRY! shoutouts:
